A crafting slow down

I have fallen into the void of little to no crafting.  Crocheted so much on vacation that I don't want to touch a hook for awhile, knitting the scarf started to bore me, the Mr. ended up in the hospital for 3 days when we got back from vaca with a kidney infection and all I wanted to do or had the energy to do was play 'Angry Birds' on my ipod(embarrassed to admit) and read which I'm proud to admit.  I finished Tana French's latest book, "Faithful Place",  "The Help" by Kathryn Stockett and started "The Spaces Between Us"by Thrity Umrigar today.

I did actually managed to rekindle my interest in finishing the 'Disappearing 9 Patch' quilt for me as it is full of imperfections, and starting a new quilt top which will be gifted.  I got my inspiration from Oh Fransson and am doing the "Wonky Cross" pattern that she has a tutorial for on her blog.

I hope this gets me back on track with the craftiness.

Corrupting a minor

On our epic road trip we have stopped to see the Mr's family in So Cal.  And,,,since it is International Yarn Bombing Day today I enlisted our niece Maddy to help me in my 'bombing'.  Not wanting her to get arrested for defacing public property I coached her on when she needed to run like the wind to avoid being thrown into the Irvine jail with me.  I was willing to take the hit.  Since she is a star on her high school track team running wasn't going to be a problem.  Even if she had to jump over a few barriers, she runs in the low hurdle races at school.  Fortunately we were able to avoid the 'coppers' and the 'bombing' went off without a hitch.  We beautified a park fence and when we were finished the little crocheted graffitis were gently blowing in the breeze.

Trippin' on down the road...

Or road trip...whatever you like.  A road trip conjurs up vast skies, preferably sunny; wonderful vistas; driving until you find an interesting place to stop; desperately looking for the next rest stop; McDonald's coffee; an achy bum; pulling into a town and finding a place to stay; being upgraded to a room with a fireplace; visiting friends and family and then making your way back home weary with happiness.

We are still on our road trip with more adventures to come.
