Healing

So here we are, end of September and the healing continues.  The surgery was successful, very little discomfort and now I am going to weekly hand physio with Tony Dao of Edmonds Hand Therapy.  He is the best and will have me rehabbed in no time.

After surgery splint

Removable splint

It is so great having a removable splint now... I can KNIT!  I think that was one of my first concerns as I lay on the rocks with my broken bone.  Then I came to my senses and realized that I needed to get myself back to the trailhead before I could do anything else.  But knitting was on my mind as I trudged back.  Sheesh.

So, on to a new month.  October is coming in with a bang here...we had over 5 inches of rain in September; the usual amount is less than 2 inches.  More rain, lightening and thunder predicted for tonight and into tomorrow.

I think I'll go knit now.

OUCH! I'll make this brief...

Broken right distal radius with displacement of that other bunch of bones at my wrist...happened Sunday...on a hike, 3.5 miles from the car on some rocks along the Stillaguamish River.  Had to hike back out with my friend's hunting knife as a splint...it was sheathed, lol...kind strangers gave me advil, tape and words of worry and encouragement...I thanked them all very very much.
Update...too unstable to cast, needs plate and pins, so surgery on Friday.  Gah!
